My Passion Project

My Passion project was minecraft, Yes Minecraft so dont annoy me about it! Joseph, Daniel M  and I are making an Archers Battle and it is really cool its theme is an abondoned village with chests that have bows and arrows and the objective is to kill each other by shooting them arrows so far so good hopefully lots of people will play it. we work pretty well together we are a pretty good at building and fighting i dont recommend any changes it was great.

MY GOALS

So far I am progressing on my goals that I set at the start of the term.
I am starting to get better in school work, now I take things home if I need to and starting to put more effort into my tasks.
I still need to act nicer towords others and treat them how I want to be treated, so i will keep working on that and hopefully i improve

The hobbit!!!

the hobbit is an awesome story. right now our class is reading the hobbit and it is a great book, at first i didn't really understand it but i watched all of the lord of the rings in the weekend and now i understand it more. the hobbit movie is being filmed here in new zealand, hobbiton is in matamata. but most of it is filmed here in wellington!! cool ay. the world premier is held here in wellinton on the 28th of novemberan awesome book and it is probably going to an awesome movie, the book is written by J.R.R.TOLKIEN he also wrote the lord of the rings, the hobbit (movie) is directed by peter Jackson he also directed the lord of the rings. I am looking forward to seeing the movie and finishing the book.

WHAT I LEARNED

So far i have learnt how to build two different types of traps on minecraft. One of the them is a fall trap which involves about 10 pistons and some redstone equipment, this is how it works. first there are some some pressure plates which link up with some pistons that pushes out a bridge but the bridge retracts if you are not fast enough and you fall to the void.

The second trap is a lava burning arrow trap which shoots flaming arrows it works by pressure plates powering dispensers that shoots the arrows which catch fire from the lava and kills anything in its path

My movie revision

Hello, Aiden here, last night I watched the movie Tower Heist, it is a great movie starring Ben stiller and Eddie Murphy. It is a movie about a tower manager (Ben Stiller) who gets fired and all his money has been stolen along with all the other work employers, he and some of his freinds are trying to steal ten million dollars from Mr Shaw (the person who stole their money). Sly (Eddie Murphy) is a criminal himself he said he would help them steal the money but only if he gets some himself. I recomend watching this movie it is a great comedy and you will definitly enjoy it but I do not want to give it all away you will have to watch it your self.

OMG the production is nearly here it is only 2 days away and I am very nervous and excited all our preparation will come down to wednesday and thursday night for the big performance. This term has gone so quickly it felt like it started yesterday.

My Interesting Week

some exciting and interesting things are going to happen soon like the production which is in a week! I am very excited an very nervous at the same time but I am sure it will be a blast and everyone will enjoy themselves including the audience. We will perform the best production St Benedicts has ever had. There are so many different characters all with different personalities, very different personalities. I have learnt all my lines now all I have to do is perfect and then I am ready for action.

for the production I need to learn all my lines completly, so I will practise at home with my mom. hopefully for my costume ican head out in the weekend and get the stuff that I need, and maybe practise a bit of shuffling.

My Favourite Olympic Sport To Watch

My favourite Olympic sport to watch is rowing. First of all lots of New Zealand athletes perform in and usually do really well, second of all it is really amazing how they push themselves to the limit for two whole kilometres. I have watched lots of rowing before the London Olympics, like at lake karapiro and the bejing olympics in 2008. another reason why I watch rowing is because New Zealand are awesome rowers, we are the best rowing country in the Olympics with three gold medals, they went to Joseph Sullivan and Nathan Cohen, Hamish Bond and Eric Murray an lastly Mahe Drysdale, all of which won by a reasonable margin. sadly the rowing is over but its the olympics there are heaps more sports to watch.

In the holidays I went skiing down in wanaka on mt cardrona, my friend and his family came too. We went skiing for 5 days and the weather was perfect no cloud at all, but it was very chilly. We went on almost every run on the mountain, it was epic, the best skiing ive had in New Zealand EVER!
My family and friends went home on sunday and I stayed until friday and flew back on a plane by myself.

My favourite work of the year

The Disease

In the city of Los Angeles many people have been caught with the disease, lost in confusion. The disease is not like catching the cold it does not make you feel sick, it traps you in your mind putting you into a slumber that you cannot wake up from. In your mind everything is your best dream you’ve ever had, but to others they can see what your body is doing they can on see your peal like a dried tomato. Just before you die all the pain inflicts up to your brain and you cry in misery then awake to feel hunger, the hunger for people

Luckily children can’t get the disease it only happens to adults, no one knows why but it just does. The disease is making its way worldwide and earth’s population is dropping. If you are lucky you die within days, the unlucky go through months. There is no cure for this horrible curse. Most people are paying all their money to doctors so they can be immunised, but all that goes to waste because there is no cure. There are two ways a diseased person can die, they can slowly die of blood lose or they can be ripped open because of lack of strength in skin and all their organs will show and they are called bursters. Bursters are very rare and if you see one don’t be alarmed it happens to a lot of people so get used to it. The advantage for kids is that since lots of people get the disease supermarket food is free, but the supermarkets soon run out of stock because there are no deliveries. Children suffer without their parents to rely on.

After 10 years of the disease the world’s population has dropped from six billion to four billion and is still dropping. New Zealand has only lost two thousand people but since it is a small country with little population it is still quite a lot.

A group of kids are fighting to survive the people drought. They team up and walk around looking for adults and food to keep them alive some stay behind while some go on the hunt for food. The ones that stay behind use the resources that they have already collected and make food for when the others get back. The hunters are the bigger and stronger ones of the group, but some stay at the base with the others for safety. All of the hunters carry big hiking bags so they can collect as much as they can.

The base is actually a home that was deserted and no people were dead inside so they converted it into a high-tech well-armed fortress. The base is two stories high and on the roof are four kids on for each side of the house with long distance snipers with a scope and silencer. Any one that came within 200 meters was instantly shot by the lookouts there are also kids with shotguns ready for up close attacks. The base also goes underground were everything is. the top is just a disguise. The location devices are used if there are adults are coming and they need to tell the lookouts. There are three entrances one through the front, one through the back and one that comes out of the ground under a hedge four blocks away. The General of the kids is Johnny he calls the shots, he has gotten them through the adults many times and that is why everyone does what he says                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

One day the adults planned an attack on the base they had over three hundred men and women in their fleet and there was only one hundred in the kids fleet but the kids had technology which would give them an advantage.

It was 8:oo at night just after the cookers finished dinner and everyone was back at base, then a sudden call from the mike, it was the lookouts, they were saying that a fleet of hungry adults are coming our way. The General quickly reacted and sent everyone to their stations the General went to the location devices and said to the worker get me a look at the fleet and he did the fleet was twice as big as the General thought so he put the siren on, it said “code red code red” the General sent the frag bullets up to the lookouts and also put four more people up at the lookout so there were two on each side. Once the lookouts got the frag bullets they immediately opened fire and in a flash thirty adults were dead, the frag bullets are special because once they hit the target they send bullet fragments out to other targets and kill them. The general also used the gun that is only used in emergency and that gun is the rail gun it can go through forty adults in a line. Once it was fired the adult fleet had almost lost a third of its fleet but it was still rampaging towards the base. The close range attackers were called up to the lookout to help the lookouts and others went to their original position. Twenty kids were sent out to formation were they shot from the road that the adults were on. Another twenty kids went around the back road to get behind the adults for an assault the lookouts and the ground unit distracted the adults while the assault team were sneaking up from behind.

The general got a call from the assault team saying were all ready so they he put them in attack. The assault team silently jogged towards the adults and when they were about one hundred meters away they opened fire and the adult fleet of 300 had dropped to about 100 had been destroyed by the assault team. The fleet of adults was gone and all of the kids celebrated. Even the general celebrated, then he said to the worker any adults nearby no he said but there is one massive fleet coming from Hamilton and it is much bigger than the one we just fought it is about ten times bigger.

Tranzit of venus

On july sixth the tranzit of venus for the second time in this centry was blocked out by typicxal wellington weather. i guess we will have to wait another 107 years until the next one. some parts in new zealand got to witnees this astronomical wonder but for wellingtonians we have to wait another 17 agonizing years.

What skills do you need to work in a group?

I think that you need good cooperation and time management skills so you all meet at the same time.

Olivia researched the mytholodgy of aquarius, Emily researched the stars in aquarius, I put the information together and we all did the power point.

who in your group worked hard and effectivly?

Emily was working whenever she could and made a big difference to group, she wrote all of the information we could get and displayed it to the power point.

What i have learnt

This week i have improved on my angle calculations and mesuring aroung a point. I am using different rules and methods to work the questions out, usally i dont whant to do maths but now its fun and i am eager to finish.

My favourite interest is triathlons, I want to be a professional triathlete and win lots of medals. My goal is to win a triathlon in the period of a year. When I am older I wamt to be in the olympics. My first triathlon is going to be the 393, it is a 300 meter swim, 9 kilometer bike ride and a 3 kilometer run i have done no training yet but soon i will be out at the pool training for swimming mountain biking with my dad for cycling and going out for short runs so i can finish strong.

Katniss Everdeen is a sixteen year old girl living in District Twelve in the country of Panem. Panem is a future version of America where there are Twelve Districts and a capitol. Every year in each district there is a reaping where one man and women between the ages of 12 and 18 get picked to be part of the Hunger Games where they will be trained to fight in the art of combat and then fight to the death.

my favourite books i have red are the hunger games series, they are soooooo good once i starded i couldent stop i highly recomend it.
i have achieved my goal of reading more books
my new reading goal is to read two books a week

Jerome woke up feeling the pain in his shoulder, yesterday he fractured it playing rugby with his friends at the park. He walked down to the kitchen to see his mum, he expected her to be making a coffee but she wasn’t there he looked upstairs in her bedroom to see if she was sleeping but she wasn’t there either. He forgot about it thinking she went to work but as he walked outside clutching his shoulder when he saw the bullets, he fell in shock landing on his good shoulder, “who could have done this?” he wept. “Whoever it was I’m going to find them”. Jerome started running not caring about the pain in his shoulder, he was determined to find his mum no matter the cost. First he went to the dairy a couple of blocks away and asked have you seen anyone speeding in a car with tinted windows, he thought a kidnapper would tint his windows so he can’t be seen, “yes I have, one just drove by a couple of minutes ago heading west.” “Thank you,” Jerome said politely and then went on a journey to find his mother’s kidnapper.

HOLIDAYS

In the holidays i went to my grandparents in palmerstonorth. my grand parents took me to the swimmingpool the first time to the lido and the second time to fryberg and the both times i got told off.

my parents picked up me from my grandparents and we went to rotorua for a family triathlon my mum did the swim, my dad did the bike and i did the run. we did really well for our first triathlon.

in the holidays i did a family triathlon with my parents, my mum did the swim, dad did the bike and i did the run we had lots of fun and did really well for our first triathlon. the next week i did a week of golf and came 4th. i wish that the holidays weren't over.
